  1. My biggest weakness is sweets! =/ I dont know what you are able to eat or not...I have realized that everyone is different as to what is band friendly for them...BUT...I had a girlfriend who made the yummy brownies...they were made with black beans! (hello protein!) Here is the recipe... I would totally make a batch and try them out before you bring them somewhere...to make sure you like them...OH...and do not use splenda instead of the sugar in the raw...it tastes baaaad (I found out the hard way).

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 cups raw sugar (Sugar in the raw)
    1 1/4 cup cocoa
    4 tsp instant coffee powder
1 1/2 cups chopped hazelnuts (if wanted...I used walnuts)

    You also need:
1 15 oz can black beans, rinsed and filled with new water
    1 tsp vanilla
1 cup of water (eyeball it by filling up half the empty can)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
When ready to bake, use a large mixing bowl to combine all the dry ingredients.

Drain a can of black beans and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.

Return the black beans back to the can and fill with water. Puree the beans and water in either a blender or food processor.

Add the puree to the dry mix along with the vanilla and extra cup of water. Stir to combine.

Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 pan. (I used PAM spray) Bake for 25-30 minutes, rotating the pan around halfway through.

When the brownies are finished they should be firm in the center and the edges will be slightly puffy and starting to pull away from the sides. Do not over cook, as they keep cooking once out of oven until cool.

Nutritional Info for a 2x2 brownie:
    105 calories, 1g fat, 21g carbs, 4g protein

I also have a ton of other recipes and stuff from over time, I guess you can shoot me an email (mrs_maitre@yahoo.com) and let me know some other criteria and I can give you some other hints? Let me know!

  2. Hi Hon!

First of all thanks for the comments lately, I've been meaning to swing by here and catch up on all your entries and am so glad you did! Your 3 month progress pic looks great! Can't wait to hear more from you.

In terms of recipe's it's too early for my brain to function, but I will brainstorm and get back to ya!

  3. I'm thinking of cubing up cheese and ham and making a platter of that, but it's not really much of a 'side', but it meets the band friendly requirement. Good luck on your hunt.
