Insurance has stopped paying for my FILLS :(

My Fill on Wednesday went well I need at little tweak so my NP addeded  .2

The not so good part of my visit was them letting me know none of my fills have been covered since January with my new insurance so I will be paying $250 per fill which will be $ 750 I owe to my surgeon.

My husbands insurance changed in January, I called and talked to the insurance in December making sure it would be covered. His employee opted for a plan that has NO baratric coverage. Now I am all types of worried, I need our insurance plan changed because what if something goes wrong with my band :(

I am on day 3 of liquids after my fill..feeling pretty good and def have restriciton!

Let hope this last fill takes me to goal!!

xo Nicole

PS Date night with my hubby I will make sure to get some pictures

  1. Wow that's really scary..

I just was posting today about how much I love my insurance :0) But I know it's changing this Jan ..and I wonder what things will/will not be covered..

    Happy date night! :)

  2. Man that totally sucks...hopefully you can get everything straightened out. $250 for a fill? Wow...at my doctor we get free fills for the 1st year and then they are only $100 a visit thereafter.

  3. That is really high. I pay $170 which is about the highest I've seen. You might see what else is out there or try a FillCenterUSA

  4. That is outrageous. My first 3 fills are free, part of the surgery package. After that is is the cost of an office visit, which is $30 for specialty co-pay. I hope you can adjust or change insurance, just so you have band support. :) Happy weekend!

  5. Bleh...that sucks. My insurance didn't cover anything at all and I won't sugar coat it....it sucks sometimes. But, man! $250 for a fill! My surgeon at least gets mine down to $150, but it still does add up. Here's to getting some restriction (and keeping it!) ASAP!!!!

  6. Wow! That's crazy, $250 for a fill? I'd ask your surgeon's office if they can cut you a deal on the price since insurance isn't covering it. (I believe most offices have a price they charge insurance companies versus the price they'd charge an individual.) I hope you don't need a lot of fills in the future!

  7. What really sucks is finding out after you've racked up a good bill. My first fill is free, but after that they are $150.00 each. I would be worried too about your insurance, I thought about that too, what if you have a complication down the road, is it not covered?

  8. That really sucks! You'd think they might have been able to alert you before JUNE! I think it's a great idea to ask if there is a better rate they can charge you...seems high for a fill...out of pocket...

    That really sucks!

  9. Oh Nicole that stinks. I was really worried about that when my insurance changed this year, but it's not that bad. At least you're at a point where you're not going all the time now.
    Have a good date night!

  10. That sucks! I hope that this fill lasts a while for you. Maybe you could talk to the surgeon and see if you can work out some sort of plan?

  11. aww I am sorry :( I lost my insurance this year and have to pay for everything now (had to cancel my dental check-up for the first time, too). My fills are only $170 each... there might be a cheaper place but I am sure you don't want to switch at this point.

  13. Oh wow...how expensive is that...come over here and I will top you up with some saline from the vet's practice I work in. I reckon if I was desperate I could do an unfill on myself...LOL. Seriously though I agree you need to get something sorted with the insurance
