FL on Tuesday...and nervous about vacation..and interview!

Leaving 6am Tuesday Morning for vacation.. Panic has set in. Do I try to maintain, do I try to lose? Do I give myself a few lb gain?! We are staying with my grandparents and I plan on going to Publix (my favorite grocery store!!!) to stock up on my yogurts, cheesesticks, power bars etc.

I am feeling good restriction and just need to listen to my body and stop when I am full. Bringing my workout clothes along with my heart rate monitor to keep track of the calories I am burning.

I am just scared 9 days NOT on my routine YIKES!

Today my weekly weigh in was 171 lbs which is great I wanted 169 for  Florida on Tuesday.. which MAY happen but I am okay with it not happening either because I am doing the best that I can!

I ALSO asked to borrow my step dads scale, I know what your thinking a scale on vacation but I feel I will feel better weighing in and keeping on track with that.

I have an interview at 8am tomorrow so think good thoughts, it's for a Non-Profit organization that I would love to work for.

  1. HEre is what I think. Eat healthy and make good choices, dont worry about allowing weight gain or trying to lose. Just try to eat right BUT, enjoy good food as well!!! Just relax and just be! I hope you guys have a great time and I wish you were coming by Pcola!

  2. This is a great opportunity for you to prove to yourself that you've made the lifestyle change. I know everyone is sick and tired of heard "lifestyle change" but that's exactly what it is ... if you're trying to lose weight then just because you're on vacation at a different location doesn't mean that you should abandon your plans to lose weight while you're on vacation. Vacation is not all about food. I'm sorry to be so harsh about this, but this is one very important lesson I've learned over the past 1.5 years while I've lost 126 lbs. This is a lifestyle change vacation and not a temporary change in eating habits. It sounds like you're willing to do what's necessary to stay on track - that is the most important lesson you can learn from his whole lapband deal! Good for you. Sounds like that exactly what you're doing.

  3. Do what skinny people do on vacation...pick healthy choices and don't worry too much about the weight. Get out and moving and you'll be fine! Good thoughts for tomorrow!!!

  4. Just listen to your band while on vacation. I went to Florida in January and I was really worried but I didn't have any problems. I probably ate my slowest while I was on vacation because I didn't want any problems. I am sure you will do fine!

Good Luck with your interview! :-)

  5. I was kind of thinking of a scale on our trip this week. :) So no judgment here.

    Good luck on your interview!

  6. glad i found your blog... i am in the fort lauderdale area. in your post last week you talk about remembering what you ate a year ago down here. i am so pathetic i got excited seeing you in a picture at casablance cafe -- my favorite local restaurant! i have been there post-band and got the blue crab martini appetizer as my meal. enjoy it down here. maybe it will get out of the 60s this week!

  7. Maybe this is why you have lost like twice as much weight as me in the same amount of time! I am not remotely worried about being off my routine for vacation! The only thing that bugs me is not having any say at all about the menu each day...but I know I can just eat a little of whatever there is and I will be fine. Pretty sure I will gain a little bit but so what. It will be mostly water weight and hopefully come off quickly.

Have a GREAT time and do not stress about what you are eating!

  8. It's a hol, so I say just enjoy. Make good choices when you can, and when you can't don't stress too much. One thing we now know, if you pop a little weight on (worst case) you know it will blow off again. Hey, have fun too!! It's what being on holidays is all about. x

  10. Enjoy your vacation! You have this tool that will remind you to not eat too much of anything. Make wise choices like you already do and it will still be there to help. If you gain, you gain. If you lose, you lose. It's a vacation and weight should not be your priority. Enjoying your time should be. Whatever you do, own your choices. And have fun doing so!
